Balloon Care
A few simple things to know once your balloons arrive, so they look great for as long as possible.
Once your balloons arrive
Once your order has been successfully delivered (including left at the door, if that's what you chose) or collected in good condition, caring for the balloons becomes your responsibility. The tips below will help them look their best for as long as possible.
A few important reminders for delivery:
- Please ensure someone is available during the booked delivery window. Deliveries are by appointment and availability outside this time cannot be guaranteed. For unexpected delays or changes, contact 0421 621 233. Alternative arrangements may be available.
- Prepare a suitable indoor space. A comfortable room temperature is recommended to help protect the balloons and maximise their lifespan.
- Outdoor events are weather dependent. Heat, cold, direct sunlight, wind and rain can damage balloons and significantly reduce their lifespan. Please plan a protected location where possible.
- Leave at Door orders are at the customer's risk. If an order is requested to be left unattended, including outside or at the door, responsibility for the balloons transfers to the customer once delivered.
- Expected lifespan with proper care: Air-filled balloons 2+ weeks, helium-filled foil balloons up to 1 week, and helium-filled latex balloons approximately 2 days.
A few important reminders for collection:
- Arrive within the booked time slot. Collections are by appointment and availability outside this time cannot be guaranteed. For unexpected delays, contact 0421 621 233. Alternative arrangements may be available.
- Allow sufficient vehicle space. Ensure the vehicle has enough clear space to safely transport the order, particularly larger arrangements.
- Set a comfortable vehicle temperature. Use heating or air-conditioning as needed before collection. Balloons are sensitive to extreme temperatures.
- Travel directly to the destination. Do not leave balloons in a parked vehicle. Keep them indoors and protected from heat, cold, wind and rain.
- Orders left unattended are at the customer's risk. Once collected, or if requested to be left outside for collection, responsibility for the balloons transfers to the customer.
- Expected lifespan with proper care: Air-filled balloons 2+ weeks, helium-filled foil balloons up to 1 week, and helium-filled latex balloons approximately 2 days.
Hi-Float & float time
Hi-Float is a professional treatment we apply to latex balloons to extend how long they stay floating. It significantly improves float time, but it is not a guarantee of an exact number of days; actual float time depends on the conditions below, and can vary between individual balloons.
Keep balloons away from
- Heat & direct sunlight: balloons expand in heat and can pop; avoid parked cars, heaters, and direct sun.
- Cold: cold air can shrink and wrinkle balloons temporarily; let them return to room temperature before use where possible.
- Wind & outdoor use: foil and helium balloons are best kept indoors or in sheltered areas; wind can cause tangling, popping or balloons floating away.
- Sharp objects: jewellery, pet claws, furniture edges and clothing zips can easily pop latex and foil balloons.
- Pets & young children: supervise balloons around pets and children at all times; balloons and any small attached parts are a choking hazard.
- Transport: use a vehicle with enough space so balloons aren't squashed, and keep windows up to avoid balloons escaping or being damaged by wind while driving.
Balloon bags for transport
Balloon bags help keep helium balloons and bouquets from tangling on the way home. As a rough guide:
- Around one bag per bouquet is usually enough for standard helium bouquets.
- A bag comfortably holds up to about 30 standard-sized balloons.
- Larger or oversized arrangements, such as balloon sculptures, balloon columns, garlands and number towers, generally don't fit in a bag and don't need one.
Bag requirements vary by order, so choose the quantity that suits what you've ordered at checkout.
Disposal
Please dispose of balloons responsibly once you're finished with them; never release helium balloons outdoors, as this is a litter and wildlife hazard.
